Support at GRA

Grand River Academy’s Advisory Program plays an important role in our Student Life Curriculum. Upon enrollment, every student at GRA is paired with a Faculty or Administrator who serves as their advisor. Advisory groups are made up of 5-7 students and meet weekly to talk about goals, academic progress, GRA’s core values, social media, manners, and a host of other topics. Advisory groups also eat breakfast and lunch together throughout the school year.

At the conclusion of every school day, GRA Faculty members remain in their classroom for 30 minutes for office hours. During this time, any GRA student is welcome to meet with their teachers for individual help with their classwork. At times, students may be required to attend office hours in order to finish missing homework, get help with an assignment, or to complete test corrections.

Sunday through Thursday, all GRA students are required to have study hall from 7:30 - 9:00 PM. Study Hall is held at various spots on campus depending on a student's grade. All of our study halls are proctored by a GRA Faculty member. Study Hall allows students to have ample time to complete their schoolwork and provides another opportunity for students to meet with their teachers outside of the classroom. 

At Grand River Academy, 100% of full-time Faculty members live on-campus. The commitment Faculty members show to living out the mission of the Academy is what makes GRA such a special place to live and learn. Faculty members teach students in the classroom, run afternoon activities, coach sports teams, work evenings during the week, and supervise dorms on the weekends. This level of dedication is what really makes the difference in a GRA education. Teachers know students in and out of the classroom, allowing them to best support and challenge each young man in their class.
